OEF Research promotes empirical research based on best-practice methods. As a part of our commitment to methodological rigor, we share novel data sets that we have developed both for transparency and to help other research in the same areas and topics develop. Click on the links below for specific information and download links to the datasets we are currently maintaining.
Terrorist and Insurgent Organization Social Services (TIOS) Dataset: This dataset provides indicators associated with whether and how more than 400 violent non-state actors provide public goods and services internationally.
Rulers, Elections, and Irregular Governance (REIGN) Dataset: This dataset is updated monthly, and includes indicators associated with country regimes, government leaders, and elections and regime changes for more than 200 countries from 1950 to the present. This dataset is the primary data used by the OEF Research CoupCast project.
